Tricycle Technology Undergoes Rapid Iteration: Electrification and Intelligence at Core of Industry Transformation

Driven by the deepening of green travel policies and the upgrading of logistics demands, tricycle technology in China is undergoing a comprehensive innovation. According to information from the recently held China New Energy Vehicle Expo, the market penetration rate of domestic Electric Tricycles has exceeded 85% in 2025, with intelligent and lightweight technologies becoming a new focus of corporate competition.

In terms of technological upgrading, major enterprises have launched models equipped with large-capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries. The driving range has generally increased to 150-200 kilometers, and some high-end logistics tricycles can achieve "80% charging in 30 minutes" through fast-charging technology. Intelligent configurations have become standard equipment: over 70% of new models are equipped with GPS positioning, intelligent anti-theft and fault diagnosis systems. Some models have even introduced AI driving assistance functions, which can automatically identify pedestrians and obstacles, significantly improving driving safety.

Breakthroughs have also been made in lightweight technology. A R&D director of an automobile enterprise said that the new tricycles using high-strength aluminum alloy frames and carbon fiber composite material bodies have reduced the overall weight by 30% compared with traditional models and reduced energy consumption by 15%. In addition, targeting rural and mountainous scenarios, the sales of off-road tricycles with high-low speed switching and steep slope assistance functions have increased by 42% year-on-year, effectively solving the problem of transportation in complex road conditions.
