Technological Upgrading Drives Industrial Transformation, Smart Lithium Battery Becomes Core Competitiveness of Auto Tricycle Exports
In 2025, the auto tricycle industry ushered in a wave of technological upgrading. Intelligence and lithium battery technology have become core competitiveness, driving the transformation of export product structure towards medium and high-end. Data shows that the proportion of medium and high-end Chinese electric tricycle models (priced above 8,000 yuan) has exceeded 35%, among which the proportion of models with intelligent central control, GPS positioning, and lithium battery power is expected to approach 45% in 2025, achieving leapfrog growth compared with less than 15% in 2020. The process of lithium battery adoption is accelerating significantly. The penetration rate of lithium battery models reached 41% in 2024 and is expected to exceed 50% in 2025, mainly benefiting from the maturity of lithium iron phosphate battery technology. While the energy density has increased by 20%, the cost has decreased by 15%, making the cruising range of vehicles generally increased to more than 120 kilometers, and the cruising range of some high-end freight models even exceeds 150 kilometers.
In terms of intelligence, the penetration rate of Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technology is expected to reach 30% in 2025. Export models integrate GPS, sensors, and IoT modules to achieve remote monitoring, fleet management, and predictive maintenance, greatly improving the operational efficiency of overseas commercial customers. Leading enterprises such as Jinpeng and Zongshen have launched high-end models equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries and intelligent management systems, with load capacity increased to more than 500 kilograms, accurately matching high-frequency usage scenarios such as overseas logistics and distribution, and agricultural trade transportation. They occupy 38% of the global market share by virtue of technological advantages.
