Global Electric Tricycle Market Size Exceeds 12 Billion US Dollars in 2025, Southeast Asia Becomes Core Export Growth Engine
According to the latest December 2025 report from the Global Environmental Protection Research Network (GEP Research), the global electric tricycle market is experiencing explosive growth, with the annual market size expected to exceed 12 billion US dollars and annual shipments reaching 8.5 million units. The Asian market contributes more than 75% of the demand, making it the core engine for the industry's development. In terms of the export pattern, as the world's largest production base, China's electric tricycle exports are expected to exceed 1.5 million units in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 28.7%. Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America are the main export destinations, among which India, with a 34% export share, has become the largest overseas market for China's
Electric Tricycles, followed by Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.
Industry analysis points out that the surging demand for low-cost, high-practicality short-distance transportation in emerging markets, coupled with the improvement of infrastructure under the Belt and Road Initiative, has driven the continuous growth of China's auto tricycle exports. Taking the Southeast Asian market as an example, the local transportation infrastructure is relatively weak. Electric tricycles, with their advantages of flexibility, convenience, and strong load-carrying capacity, have become an important solution to fill the gap in public transportation. In 2025, China's exports to this region increased by 41% year-on-year, accounting for 14% of the total exports. In addition, driven by green travel policies, the European market demand is also growing steadily, with an export share of 8%, providing new growth space for Chinese electric tricycle enterprises.
